Solution to AOL 3.0 problem with password-protected pages
There is a problem with the browser that is part of version 3.0 of America
OnLine for Windows 3.1, which prevents entering a password for a page that
is loaded into a frame. In first accessing a password-protected page, AOL
users should instead use these links to the Black
Chip, CBJN and Green
Chip pages. After you do this, you can return to the menu via the link
at the top of each password-protected page. The left-frame menu links will
work normally for the rest of the session and you can use them to enter
all of the pages you have access to without re-entering your password.
We are only aware of this particular problem occuring with AOL's browser, and only
in AOL 3.0 for Windows 3.1.
We recommend that you instead use Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet
Explorer with your AOL account. See AOL for details on how to do this.
If you use Windows 95 or later, but still are using AOL 3.0 for Windows 3.1,
you should install the latest AOL version for your operating system (though previous Win95
versions, 3.0 or later, should also work.)
